Your Child and the Health Care System

807049_tiny_feet_5I was inspired by Extraordinary Mommy Blog to write this post about the right of our children to have a voice when health care changes or reform decisions are being made.

Most of us are lucky when it comes to being able to afford a good health insurance plan for our children. When you run to the hospital for nicks and bruises or those 3AM cold and fevers, the last thing on your mind should be whether you will be able to get medical care if you don’t have a way to pay for it.

There are people, however, who cannot afford insurance or cannot legally obtain it. Are they less entitled to seek help for their children? Should children fall under the same category as adults when it comes to qualifying for health insurance? Most insurance companies pick and choose whom they cover based on pre-existing conditions and a long list of other qualifiers. Should this apply to children as well?

It is our duty and obligation to pay attention to how the government’s decisions and health care regulations will impact ALL of all children.

Speak Now for our children.
